Using Qualitative Research and Data

What is qualitative research?

Qualitative research involves gathering information about events “from the perspective of those involved” in order to understand human behavior. Methods include interviews, observation, and document review. It differs from quantitative research, which focuses using data that is able to be manipulated using statistical methods and mathematical formulas to describe or “quantify” behavior. Qualitative research aims to discover themes, patterns, relationships, and more within a certain event.
