National Center for Health Statistics Reissue: "All six data files in the 1971 NHIS data release on the Internet have been replaced.  The previous files were not the correct files; they have been replaced by the correct files. We have found two errors in the 1971 file documentation: 1. The label for columns 3-5 in the Household, Person, Condition, Hospital, and Doctor Visit file layouts says "PSU - ORIGINAL CODE"; it should say "PSU - RANDOM RECODE". 2. In the Person file layout, page P-6, columns 55-56, Age Recode #1, the value 09, which denotes age 75+ years, is missing. Corrected files can be found at:
